Dragon Wizard 101

Dragonspyre has a total of 106 quests. It has 35 bosses, though 4 of those are in lower worlds, when you collect the Obsidian Chests. It has 9 Defeat and Collect quests and 39 regular mob fights. Dragonspyre is maybe best known for its final instance: Malistaire’s Lair. File:Aqua Dragon.png Type: First Generation Pet School: Ice Pedigree: 57 Cards: Gives one Dragonblade Item Card at Baby Egg Name: Frost-Shelled Hatch Time: 00:00:05 (Days:Hours:Minutes) Description: This pet can be found on gift cards bought from Blockbuster Video for $10, depending on the month you redeem the code. Default Attribute Limits Bought From: A Wizard101 Gift Card Amount: $10.

Throughout Wizard101's history, there has been some pets that were once obtainable and then they were no longer obtained later.

In this list, I will be going over the rare and obscure pets in the game.

10. Storm Beetle (status: Discontinued distribution)

If anyone is a veteran wiz player or had played since 2009, will most likely know by now that this pet was distributed in the Beckett Magazines for a limited time and was also sold by Prospector Zeke for a limited time.

This pet is also famous for the Rain Beetle hybrid

And more recently the Fire Beetle hybrid

Some players like myself, still have this pet but the Storm Beetle is hard to find still just like the fog unicorn which I own as well.

It's unknown if KI will ever distribute this pet again unless they did it as a special event or through a special promo code.

9. Shardtail Dragon (status: distributing for now)

This was a promotional Pet obtained from Beckett Massive Online Gamer Magazine, Issue #20. It was also given as a prize from KingsIsle Free Games.

In Sept. 2016, this Pet was given as a possible reward from the Member Rewards Bonus in the Daily Assignments Chests, during Wizard101's 8th Birthday Celebration.

It was also offered again in August 2017 in a special Birthday Chest for their 9th Birthday celebration.

This Pet cannot obtained by hatching, but may result in a Fragmented Dragon

It is unknown if KI will release this pet again after their 9th birthday celebration. Unless it was a special distribution. (Sucks most of us can't hunt for this pet because of the DDoS incident)

8. Yellow Fire Elf (status: discontinued distribution)

This pet was given away as part of Wizard101's 2009 MMO of the year award. This pet can also be obtained through hatching but in general this pet is pretty rare to find. I also own this pet.

It's possible that KI will not distribute this pet again in the future.

7. Frankie Forearms (status: discontinued distribution)

If anyone played Rise And Destroy (KI's new mobile game at the time) then you would've heard about the Frankie Forearms event.

This pet is pretty unique and interesting because it's a monster protagonist from Rise And Destroy. Not alot of players owned a mobile device or couldn't play the game for whatever reason making this pet incredibly obscure.

Interestingly enough, when you hatch Frankie Forearms, you get a Crabling hybrid.

With this reason alone, it would be impossible to release again unless it was through different means (promo codes on Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

This is a pet i yet again, own. (No mean to brag)

6. Ice Elf (status: distribution during the holidays)

This pet isn't as rare as it once was but it's still interesting to note.

Here's Central's description:

This Pet was given as a promotional reward from KingsIsle for purchasing a Gift Certificate on their web site during the winter holiday months. It is also a potential elder drop from the Boon Tree. Those who played Kingsisle's new 'Grub Guardian' game on any iPhone, iPad, or iPod during November 2012 were rewarded with this Pet in December 2012 during the 'Play in November, Pet in December' giveaway. This pet is also available in the Witch's Hoard Pack in the Crown Shop (released 01-11-2016).

This pet is also a drop from Krampus(Rank 6) and it has been rumored to also be a hybrid hatched with a Grumpy Snowman and a Fire Elf.

This pet can still be obtained through hatching.

Wwe crush hour trailer. 5. Pioneer Dragon (status: Retired/Discontinued distribution)

This pet was only given away for beta testers/players. It never got any promotional events or special promo codes releases of any kind making this pet incredibly obscure.

Since it can't be obtained through hatching, if hatched it will result in a Frontier Dragon

At this rate, KI will never release this pet due to its premise unless they distribute it through a very special promotion which will most likely never happen. But we can speculate.

4. Danger Hound (status: Retired/discontinued distribution)

This hound is pretty interesting. Here's Central's description:

This pet was given as a promotional reward to most Wizard101 Central members when Facebook recruitment reached a critical level in 2009 and as a promotional reward to celebrate Wizard101 Central's fifth birthday in 2013. It cannot obtained by mixing, but may result in a Ghost Hound

It's more likely KI may distribute this pet again in a few years but we'll wait and see. I don't know do you guys want the Danger Hound back?

They might also make it as a chest reward from fishing chests.

3. Boar Knight (status: discontinued distribution)

This pet has an interesting history behind it. It was a rumored drop from Sylster Glowstorm and it was available in October and November of 2011 when Zafaria came out.

It was not a drop until Thanksgiving 2011 for a thank you gift and finally in March 2012 it was a gift for new members. This pet can be considered obscure and rare at the same time. This pet can be obtained through hatching surprisingly.

Most likely KI will distribute it from their social network pages. But I highly doubt they'll even distribute it again like most of the other pets on this list.

2. Red Gobbler (status: rare drop/reward)

This gobbler pet, used to be in in the crown shop. This pet can be obtained from a very rare drop from Tumok Gravelbeard and from the daily assignments rewards. However, like most daily assignment pets, they are nearly difficult to obtain and how many players have this pet? Not alot. So that's why the Red Gobbler is one of the rarest pets

It might not be that rare to some but it all depends on luck.

1. Sheep (status: unknown distribution)

This pet is the most famous, rarest, and most obscure pet on this list.

To get this pet, you would have to work for KI and Wizard101 or receive it as a special gift. To get it as a special gift is unclear but it may have something to do with very significant or very special contributers in the community or game.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't try to be a huge video creator or celebrity (chances of that happening overnight is slim to none) or anything of the sort.

It probably goes to those that are rewarded or highly appreciated by KI like a huge Wiztuber like Blaze LifeHammer.

It's also currently unknown if they are still distributing sheep pets or if there are new methods available to obtain it since KI is making this pet a secret.

What do you guys think will happen with the sheep pet?

This pet cannot be obtained through hatching but will result in the rarest hybrid in the game being a Goat Monk.

Storm dragon wizard 101

So that is my list of the rarest and obscure pets in the game.

Which pets do you want back?

Do you have any theories regarding the Sheep pet?
